Kathleen Thompson has started a Crowdrise campaign to fund a pilot program that could very likely help to reduce violence in Chicago and across the country. Marc Wise is the founder and owner of Greenwise Organic Lawn Care. He has been doing work on co-host Peggy Malecki's yard and he explains why there aren't more natural lawn care businesses in the Chicago area. Holly and Joey Baird from The Wisconsin Vegetable Gardener have advice on fall edible gardening and soil preperation for next spring. Pam Todd and Arthur Smith belong to an organization called Chicago Living Corridors. They're trying to score a 100 million dollar grant from the MacArthur Foundation help private landowners play an important role in reversing the negative impact of ecosystem loss and fragmentation, land and water pollution, and climate change.
