Cindy Baker, Manager of Horticultural Services at the Chicago Botanic Garden, advises gardeners on how to handle the late-arriving winter weather in the Chicago area. Mike recaps the LaSalle County, Illinois Board meeting where a permit for an open pit sand mine opposite the eastern entrance to Starved Rock State Park was approved. He is joined by LaSalle County Board Member Rick Scott, John McKee, President of the Starved Rock Audubon Society, and Cindy Skrukrud, Clean Water Advocate for the Illinois Sierra Club.
